Cor Unum is a Dutch ceramics workshop with a rich and inspiring story that dates back as far as 1953. Based in ’s-Hertogenbosch, the atelier has stood for craftsmanship, creativity and a heartfelt take on design for over seventy years. The name Cor Unum literally means one of heart and you can feel that in everything it makes.

At Cor Unum, professionals work together with people distanced from the labour market, students, volunteers and talented makers. Everyone gets the chance to contribute to the ceramic process and develop their talents, creating a unique mix of craftsmanship, personal commitment and creative energy.

Cor Unum's strength lies in its collaboration with well-known designers such as. Sofie Boonman, Floris Hovers, Roderick Vos, Willem Zwiers, Bas Koster, Hanna Kooistra, Maarten Baas, Jorine Oosterhoff and many others. Together with the designers, objects are created that combine art, design and craft in forms that are both functional and expressive.

Cor Unum makes everything in in-house workshop in ’s-Hertogenbosch, where clay is fired into ceramics with a soul. Here, you see objects created from start to finish: from sketch to mould, from casting and turning to glazing and firing. This artisanal approach means each piece is unique.

Cor Unum's mission goes beyond beautiful design alone. The studio is committed to inclusiveness, social engagement and the preservation of ceramic craft. They offer work to makers who struggle to find their place elsewhere and help young designers grow through residencies, collaborations and providing a stage for new talent.
